Kelly Turkey Farms, home of the Kelly Bronze Turkey has launched Krafted by Kelly Confit Turkey Thighs.
The product is a much-loved Kelly family recipe of slow-cooked turkey thighs produced from mature Kelly Bronze breeding hens.
They come ready to heat and serve with suggestions for a Sunday roast alternative or to be pulled apart for rice, pasta or wraps.
The breeding hens are grown to full maturity on the family farm in Danbury.
Kelly Turkeys was founded in Essex in 1971 by Derek and Mollie Kelly. While the family farm started off breeding standard white turkeys, in the 1980s Derek and his son Paul decided to change to traditional bronze turkeys.
Managing director of Kelly Bronze, Paul Kelly said: “Like many of the classic cheaper cuts of meat, our breeding hens offer deliciously big flavours at great value.
“My mother, Mollie Kelly, has been a firm believer in beak-to-tail cooking her entire life. The whole animal is respected, which is a more sustainable, less wasteful and more nutritious approach to making meals.”
The turkey thighs are individually boxed costing £6.50 for 400g and are available from www.kellybronze.com now and Ocado from November.
